It has been reported that potential No. 1 draft pick Markelle Fultz will not work out for the Sacramento Kings, according to sources. However it is possible that Fultz will work out for them before the NBA Draft, which is June 22nd.

It is a pretty strange situation, as the Kings are not in a position to get Fultz without a couple of moves made by the front office. Sacramento will have the 5th pick in the draft, and Fultz will not drop down that far.

Even if Sacramento does not convince the Celtics to give up their spot, the fact that Fultz’s name is floating around in the organization and it is rumored that he might workout for them is good news for the Kings. They have worked out five of the top 20 prospects and has already brought in a top-five prospect in DeAaron Fox of Kentucky.

To add to that, Sacramento also has two top-ten picks as well as an early second round pick in the draft. This will show that the Kings are looking more attractive to top prospects and can possibly get the ball rolling on it’s struggling organization.

After trading superstar DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans in February, the organization has been committed to a rebuild, predominantly through the draft in a loaded class, and these picks could help put them in the right path.
