Kyrie Irving has been the corner stone for the Cleveland Cavaliers ever since they drafted him with the 1st overall pick in 2011 by the Cavs.
In 2014-15 free agency LeBron James came back to the Cavs after leaving for four years to have a “Big-3” with the Miami Heat. Once LeBron came back and they traded for Kevin Love, the Cavs were looking to make the finals. In the 2014-15 season Irving had his best season by far in the NBA and kept getting better year after year. This past season Irving tallied up 25 points and 6 assists.
Now that the Cavs lost in the 2017 NBA finals to the super team Golden State Warriors in 5 games, LeBron is most likely looking to move onto another team once the 2018 free agency hits next season. The Los Angeles Lakers have been rumored to have mutual interest with LeBron.
It’s worth noting that Kyrie Irving’s contract isn’t bad.
2019-20: $21,329,752 (player option)

Reports have recently come out saying that Irving has demanded a trade because of wanting a “bigger role” on a team. A team that would be a perfect fit for Irving would be the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have started a youth movement with their roster and just need a good player to possibly get them into playoff contention. That player could perhaps be Kyrie Irving. The Suns would be perfect for Irving as they already have an elite scorer in Devin Booker.
Sources: Bucks and Suns have reached out to Cavs in regards to Kyrie Irving. Deal around Jabari Parker/Eric Bledsoe plus other young assets.
