Bulls G/F Jimmy Butler is having undoubtedly the best season of his career. He’s averaging 25.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg, and 4.5 apg. Despite his monster year the bulls reportedly have made it known that Butler is available via trade.

Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher has reported he is on the trade block “League sources say the team made it known weeks ago through backchannels that shooting guard Jimmy Butler is available for the right price”.
Butler is regarded by many as one of, if not, the best shooting guard in the NBA. However, the bulls are unsure if he’s worth building around. The team hasn’t been playing as well as they had been to start the season. Many people have speculated some sort of change with the team, but I don’t think we saw this coming.
Chicago looks to be going into full-rebuild if they can pull the trigger on a deal for Jimmy. Most likely, they will want younger assets and draft picks in return for Butler. And what team has been known to have the most significant trading assets at the moment? the Boston Celtics.
At this point, we know what the Celtics are lacking and it’s a superstar that can make them an instant contender — and Jimmy could make that happen. Even though the Bulls don’t see it, Butler is a superstar in this league and also a perfect fit for Boston, who needs that one last piece to make the jump from good to great.
The Celtics could offer Avery Bradley, Jaylen Brown and the Nets 2017 1st round pick or they could swap in Jae crowder, maybe because of his recent outburst.

No matter what pieces they give up for Butler, it’d benefit their team greatly. Pairing up Jimmy with scoring machine Isaiah Thomas, they could definitely be the best back court in the league.
If a trade does happen, whether it’s with the Celtics or not, what will happen to Dwyane Wade? He just signed a 2-year $47 million deal this past offseason, and it isn’t appearing as if he’ll want to stick around without Jimmy there.
If a deal does get through, this will certainly shake up the NBA landscape especially with the questions about Chicago’s two other veteran guards (Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo). For now, we just have to sit back and see what happens.
