The Golden State Warriors are the most hated team in the NBA. By far. The dynamic duo of the “Splash Brothers” Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson dominate from behind the three-point line. There are also the antics and controversial kicking of power forward Draymond Green, and the “snake” Kevin Durant, who left his Oklahoma City Thunder to join the team that knocked them out of the playoffs. They are dubbed a “super team”; some say that a championship is a sure thing for the new look Warriors team, but they are lacking in one spot. The starting center position, and they need to make a trade for a new one.
The Warriors current starting center is Zaza Pachulia. Zaza averages 5.9 points, 6 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks this season. The Warriors signed Pachulia over the offseason after trading former center Andrew Bogut to the Dallas Mavericks. Pachulia has not been efficient enough for the Warriors, and they need to make a change.

Trade rumors have been circling around the Brooklyn Nets starting center Brook Lopez. Brook is exactly what the Warriors need. The one time all-star is now 28 years old and the star player on arguably the worst team in the league. The Warriors should trade for Lopez.
Brook has averaged 20.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. When Lopez came into the league he was purely a back-to-the-basket low post player, but as time has passed he has grown as a player and become more versatile. Lopez can not only dominate in the paint, but can now shoot the outside jumper, which will help him fit right in with Golden State.
As well as being a strong presence on offense, Lopez will bring defensive force to the team. Currently Draymond Green is faced with guarding the better opposing big men, but despite his excellent defensive ability he can’t make up for his lack in size. Draymond is only 6’7, the same height as their shooting guard Klay Thompson. The low post presence of Brook will help defend the larger players that Draymond can’t.
If the Warriors want to win to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA championship, who narrowly beat them last year, they will need someone who can guard big man Tristan Thompson. Brook can slide right into that spot and could possibly be just what the Warriors need to edge out the Cavs.
