Despite the Cleveland Cavaliers’ good start to the season, LeBron James feels like they need to add another piece. One of the names that has come up is veteran point guard, Jameer Nelson.

Out of all the names that are being thrown around, Jameer might be the easiest for Cleveland to acquire.
Nelson currently serves as the backup point guard for the Denver Nuggets behind future star, Emmanuel Mudiay. It would seem at this point in his career that Nelson would want to compete for a championship. He of course hasn’t won any, and the closest he had ever gotten to it, was in the 2009 NBA Finals with the Orlando Magic. The Cavaliers would give him the best chance to win it all while being a solid contributor.
While he isn’t the star player he used to be, Jameer has still been able to contribute at this stage in his career, especially from a shooting standpoint. He’s shooting over his career percentages in terms of field goals and three-point field goals.
I have no idea who or what Cleveland would be willing to part with in order to acquire Nelson. Maybe Kay Felder, Jordan McCrae, or DeAndre Liggins? Perhaps draft picks?
The trade deadline is approaching fast and I think we can expect the Cavs to be quite active. It is apparent that LeBron James wants change and Jameer Nelson might be the answer.
